SAVOY HOTEL YANGON

Rating: Deluxe

One of our favourite hotels in the city. Not only does it represent excellent value for what it is, but it also offers an excellent range of facilities, which some will find surprising given its size. Each of the property’s 30 rooms (24 Deluxe and 6 Deluxe Suite) have been tastefully decorated using wooden furnishings and characterful antiques. Exploring Yangon can sometimes feel like hard work due to the ever-increasing traffic, noise and stifling humidity – this shouldn’t bother you too much here though as the pool area provides guests with the perfect oasis in which to unwind. Alternatively, you may prefer to order a draft beer from the cosy Captain’s Bar whilst a local musician styles out some jazz piano. The 2nd floor restaurant (Kipling’s Restaurant) is also worth a mention with its fine dining take on Myanmar and other South East Asian cuisine.

Due to its small size, the Savoy Hotel always manages to maintain its boutique feel, even when running at full occupancy (this is often the case during the peak months of November to March).

Facilities:

  • Swimming pool
  • Bar (Captain’s Bar)
  • Two excellent restaurants (Le Bistrot and Kipling’s Bar & Terrace)
