If there was an award for Yangon’s best modern five star hotel, Lotte Hotel Yangon would surely be a strong contender. With rooms overlooking Inya Lake, Shwedagon and the US Ambassador to Myanmar’s residence, it’s also one of the best properties from which to experience Yangon’s scenic side; believe it or not, it does have one!

One of the main reasons to stay here is for the view of Inya Lake; with this in mind, we would highly recommend staying in one of the Premier Lake rooms, which can be found centrally positioned between the 3rd and 10th floors.

Aside from the view, the service is excellent as are the F&B and leisure facilities. The indoor and outdoor swimming pools, lakeside hot tub and spa facilities are especially heavenly after a full day out and about in downtown. If you don’t fancy eating at the hotel, some great restaurants can be found a short walk or taxi journey away (Cellar Door, Shwe Sa Bwe, Le Planteur and SEEDS).

Lotte Hotel Yangon’s not exactly central, but this does come with some advantages in the sense that it’s away from the hustle and bustle, spacious, green(er) and you get more bang for your buck. It is also extremely close to the international and domestic airports making it a convenient option for early morning departures.
