Located in Old Bagan, on the banks of the Irrawaddy River, Bagan Thande is one of the best value accommodation options in the area. With 78 rooms and six categories, there is bound to be something here that will cater for all tastes and budget requirements. Although some of the rooms are in need of a little TLC, they are all clean, cosy and full of character. Tour Mandalay love the spread out nature of the place and the manicured gardens provide a perfect respite from travelling – the trees are also home to a plethora of wildlife, which will be sure to keep any nature enthusiasts amused. In the evening, be sure to enjoy a cocktail from the Irrawaddy River view bar, or if drinking is not your thing, perhaps you could take a refreshing dip in the large pool? Interestingly, the Prince of Wales is said to have visited Bagan Thande back in 1922, so the place is certainly not short of history.
