Kandawgyi Palace Hotel
Although it has benefitted from major extension and renovation work, the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel was originally built by the British as an exclusive rowing club in 1934. Due to its close proximity to Kandawgyi Lake, this large yet characterfully designed property enjoys one of the most picturesque locations in the city. One of the best ways to enjoy this view is from the comfort of a deckchair dotted around the side of the surprisingly large pool. Thanks to this and a gigantic replica model of Tyrannosaurus rex, we regard this to be one of the best family options in the city. There’s also a range of large prehistoric fossils on display in the grand lobby, which will be sure to wow any history buffs. Younger clients may also appreciate the hotel’s state of the art nightclub – entrance to this complimentary for hotel guests. If this is not your cup of tea, please do not worry as it’s located well away from the hotel’s guest rooms.
