News: Heritage Works Yangon exhibitions, talks and activities (5th & 6th Dec)

Heritage Works Yangon have just announced an exciting range of exhibitions, talks and activities, which are scheduled to take place this weekend. The aim of this is to build a case for investment in the city’s historic core.

If you happen to be in Yangon this weekend, be sure to check it out. It will perfectly suit anyone with an interest in history, art or culture.

The following at the YCDC Main Entrance sounds particularly interesting:

100 young Burmese architects – with the help of 26 renowned local and
international architects – have designed possible solutions for upgrading of
heritage buildings and the public realm, using selected buildings and sites in the
downtown area as case studies. This exhibition shows their ideas for 15
different buildings and sites in Yangon’s historic core.

…and this one at the 100-year old YWCA building on Bogalayzay Street.

the golden city by Yangon based photographer Philip Heijmans
