Best Western Chinatown

Rating: Medium

If you’re looking to stay in downtown without spending an arm and a leg, the Best Western Chinatown is a great option. As the name suggests, it’s located in the upper block of Chinatown, just across the road from the 100-year old General Hospital. This area rarely features on typical downtown touring route, so a stay here also helps to provide a different perspective of what Yangon’s downtown district has to offer.

As you can see from the picture above, the rooms are quite gaudy in nature, but this doesn’t take away from their practicality or comfort. The front facing rooms boast great views of the General Hospital and Shwedagon Pagoda, although due to the single glazed windows we found these a little bit nosier than the rooms at the back.

There are plans to open a rooftop bar and gym in the near future.
